Hey There!

In Conversation with Tee Moon

As architecture students, sketching and recording our thoughts by hand is something that should be second nature to us. However, with the advent of technology (digital drafting and modelling tools), this skill has slowly and quietly been neglected by most (myself included). So when I saw one of my newly made friends diligently sketching in a corner, I decided to dig a little deeper to uncover some of these sketches and the person behind them.

When did you start sketching?

I started sketching when I was 18 years old. It was just an accidental discovery and I fell in love with it ever since.

Any tips for anyone who wants to become as good as you?

Keep practicing.

Favourite tools?

I started with "B" pencils at first, then moved on to pens. I don't use mechanical pencils.

Whats your approach to sketching?

I draw perspectives when I want to show 3D spatial value. Sections, to understand the surroundings. Mostly importantly, draw people because spaces are used by people.

Advice to aspiring young sketchers?

Just do it, show your sketches to people and be proud of it!
